At the Hearth

I found the image for this piece in a magazine, and something about it wouldn’t let me go. The woman, standing over a wood-fired stove, focused and steady—it felt timeless. I didn’t grow up with that stove, but I recognize the care in her posture, the warmth of the space. I painted it to honor that quiet dignity.
