Incredible Weeds Along Rio Grande River

This piece was inspired by a peaceful moment spent near the Rio Grande near a bank just coming into bloom. I painted this from a photo I took—the soft color of the weeds caught my eye first, scattered across the banks of the river under a quiet blue sky. There’s a gentle sense of movement in the scene, almost like the wind just passed through. I focused on bringing out the contrast between the delicate colors of the blossoms and the rich greens of early summer.
