Pathside Paws

I painted this from a photo taken along one of the quiet footpaths by the Rio Grande. I loved the way the dog seemed to pause mid-step, as if deciding whether to keep going or turn back. The warm, dusty tones of the trail and the golden grasses brought back that feeling of walking there at dusk, with only the sound of wind and paws on the path.
