Storm on the Plains

This one started with the dramatic lines of the clouds—I could almost hear the thunder as I scratched them in. I was working from a photo of an old farmhouse, and I imagined the way the wind must have howled across the fields. I loved the contrast of the quiet house bracing against that sweeping, electric sky. It’s a moment of stillness right in the heart of the storm.
