Canyon Light, Highway 550

This photo was taken just off Highway 550 on the way to Farmington, New Mexico. The canyon walls caught the afternoon light in a way that stopped me in my tracks—layers of warm gold, cool shadow, and the hush that comes when land stretches wide. I was struck by how the shape of the land holds stories, quiet and old. The clouds softened the sun just enough to let the color speak. I didn’t plan to stop, but I’m glad I did.
